Hi! 

Welcome to one of your dog's favorite activities - SNIFFING!!  

These classes will help you to turn your dog's amazing sniffing ability into a really fun game for both of you! 

Before we get into the mechanics of introducing odor, there are just a couple of things I'd like for you to know. 

- I have found much success with introducing one odour at a time. This is the method I will be teaching you. There are other methods that eventually get the same results - dog finds odour and gives an indication behaviour. 

 - These classes are for everyone! Some of you may want to go on to competitions, others of you may not. And that is perfect. Our goal is to introduce a new game to you and your dog for you to enjoy together.

- Out of all of the training for scent that you will do, this course is the most important. It's the work that your dog will fall back on in every search they do.

- Take your time. Don't rush to the next lesson if your dog isn't ready.  Marvel in the skills that deep down you knew your dog has, but have never really watched. Make this training stick in their brain.

- Keep it fun, for both of you. Always.

- These are not cookie-cutter classes. These are guidelines, which can and should be tailored to you and your dog. Everyone learns at a different pace.

- As with all dog sports, there is more than one way to teach foundations for scent. In my experience, the method I am teaching you has worked best for me and my students, which is why I want to share it with you. It's important to keep an open mind with training methods.

-Video yourself. Watch your videos later. There is a lot of little things you may not have seen in the moment of training. Send me a few videos too! I'd love to see your progression!

- Got questions? Ask me!! I will always be available to answer any questions or concerns. You can message me from inside of this course! In fact, I will want you to message me each time you finish a module so we can be sure you and your dog are on the right track!

- Take advantage of our interactive video chats. I want to help you through any struggles and celebrate all of your training successes. This isn't a "go read and now go do" type of class. Your feedback is very important. This is how we learn.
