Sometimes it's really good to document your training sessions. You can do this by videoing your sessions and also by keeping a planner.
With your planner, you can set out what your training goals are for the session. Try to focus on one training goal at a time, whether it's duration, distance, focus, whatever! It can even be about you and your reward history!
You can record the tools you used, what kind of scent you used, and the setup area for your search. You can also record all of your observations, which comes in very handy when you run into a training obstacle down the road (ie: he always used to do...behaviour...and now he doesn't. What changed?)
